Poll Shows Most Israelis Believe No War Victories Since October 2023

(MENAFN) A new poll published by an Israel’s public broadcaster suggests that most Israelis believe the country has not achieved a decisive victory in any of its recent wars since October 7, 2023.

According to the survey, 57% of respondents say Israel has not won on any front since that date, while 28% believe it has secured victory in at least one area. A further 15% said they are unsure.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been engaged in multiple military operations across Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran, while also carrying out strikes in Yemen and Syria, as well as operations in the occupied West Bank.

The poll indicates low public confidence in outcomes across individual arenas. Only 17% of respondents said they believe Israel has achieved success in Syria, with similar figures showing declining confidence in other regions: 16% for Gaza and Iran, 14% for Lebanon, 12% for Yemen, and 11% for the West Bank.

On security concerns, 73% of those surveyed said the continued armed presence of Hamas and Hezbollah poses a risk of another large-scale attack similar to October 7. Meanwhile, 10% rejected that possibility, and 17% said they do not know.

The broadcaster noted that the poll was conducted on its behalf but did not provide details on the polling firm or sample size.

On political matters, 56% of respondents expressed support for reported US President Donald Trump pressure on Israeli President Isaac Herzog to consider granting a pardon to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his ongoing corruption case.
