Houthis Claim Missile Strikes on Saudi Airports, Aramco Sites
In a statement posted on Telegram, Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree said the group used ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones in the attacks. He framed them as retaliation for “Saudi aggression targeting our country.”
Saree also claimed fighters struck the Shaybah oil field, King Khalid International Airport in the capital, Riyadh, and Abha International Airport.
A separate operation, he alleged, went after “Saudi enemy radars in Jabal al-Hisn and Jabal al-Rahmah, and Khamis Mushait Air Base in three phases,” according to Saree.
Saudi authorities offered no immediate response to the claims.
Fighting escalates across Yemen and the border
The announcement comes as hostilities sharpen between the Houthis and forces loyal to Yemen’s internationally recognized government, which the Saudi-led coalition backs.
Yemen has been mired in war since 2014, when the Houthis seized Sanaa and much of the country’s north. Combat has grown more intense since July and has spilled over into Saudi Arabia, with the Houthis repeatedly targeting the kingdom.
